Adding Images and Links to Club Posts

Updated -

How do I add images to my club posts?

To add images to your club posts you’ll have to use some basic HTML. HTML is a mark-language used to build the foundation of modern websites and is fairly simple to use.

To add an image, you use the “img” (image) tag and the “src” (source) attribute as follows:

<img src=”image_url_goes_here”>

You’ll need to have a copy of your image somewhere on the web in order for the world to see it.  Fortunately there are a number of websites dedicated to hosting your pictures and they’re often free. I recommend signing up at http://photobucket.com, since it’s free and you can also create and add slideshows to your stories.

After you sign up, you’ll be able to upload your image to photobucket and copy its url by clicking the “Direct Link” text field. You’ll then paste the url between the quotation marksin the above code. It’ll look something like this:

<img src="http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii524/myndroa/images.jpg">

On the clubs page this will look like:

How do I add a link to my post?

 To add a link, you can use the “a” (anchor) tag and the “href” (hyperlink reference) attribute:

<a href="url_of_linked_page_here">This is a link</a>

A link can be made to nearly anywhere on the web, just copy the text in your address bar while you’re on the page you wish to link, and paste it between the quotation marks like this:

<a href="http://wattpad.com/">Bring me to Wattpad!</a>

And this will take you to the Wattpad homepage: Bring me to Wattpad!

How do I make a image link to something?

 You can do this by adding together the two code snippets above:

<a href="url_of_linked_page”><img src=”url_of_image"></a>

You’d have to replace the value next to href with the page's url, a wattpad image link would look something like this:

<a href="http://wattpad.com"><img src="http//i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii524/myndroa/images.jpg"></a>

On the clubs, this would look something like:
