Writer Subscriptions - Frequently Asked Questions

What are writer subscriptions?

We are testing writer subscriptions as an exciting new way to directly support your favorite writers in creating the stories, worlds, and characters you love. When you subscribe to a writer, you help them earn money for sharing their talent and enable them to create more stories and new chapter drops. As a subscriber, you get unlimited access to all extras on the writer’s stories, including Exclusive Chapters and Writer Reveals. Your favorite stories, but longer, your treasured plotlines, with new plot twists, and a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process of the writers you adore.

What are Extras?

Extras introduce an even more immersive reading experience, to keep you endlessly entertained with the Wattpad worlds you’ve come to love, through features like Exclusive Chapters and Writer Reveals.

Exclusive Chapters are extensions to the core story that selected writers can choose to add in between or at the end of the story. Exclusive Chapters can include plot extensions, alternate endings, prequels, sequels, and more.

Writer Reveals are behind-the-scenes notes by writers, published contextually within chapters. They provide an inside look at a writer’s creative process, with discussions on how ideas came to life, character motivations, and different creative paths explored by the writer.

What languages are Exclusive Chapters and Writer Reveals available in?

Exclusive Chapters and Writer Reveals are currently only available on stories written in English. As we learn more about how readers interact with these chapters, we may look into expanding these features to multiple languages.

Where are writer subscriptions currently available?

Writer subscriptions are available on iOS and Android version 9.90 or later in the United States starting on December 1st, 2022. From December 12th, 2022 onwards, we will be rolling out to Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. This page will be consistently updated with the latest information.
