Search is one of the best ways to find a story or browse a list of stories. There are many ways to search including searching by story title, username, tags, or keywords. Filters are also a great way to refine your results and remove the content you do not want to see.

On iOS
- Tap on the Search button in the bottom navigation bar
- Select the Search Field at the top of the page
You will now be able to type in a title, keyword, tag, or username.
- Searching for a title
- Type "title:" before the text to get exact title match results. (Please note: this will not work with a combination of tags)
- Example: "title: My first Wattpad story"
- Type "title:" before the text to get exact title match results. (Please note: this will not work with a combination of tags)
- Searching with a keyword(s)
- Type in the name of the story or or associated words to get results related to the title, description, username, or tags.
- Example: "Harry Styles fanfiction"
- Type in the name of the story or or associated words to get results related to the title, description, username, or tags.
- Searching with tags
- Type in "#" next to the keyword(s)
- Example: "#romance" or "#romance #fanfiction
- Type in "-" next to the keywords(s) to omit tags from appearing in the results
- Example: "#romance -fanfiction" or "Harry Styles #romance -Humor"
- Type in "#" next to the keyword(s)
- Searching with username
- Type in the username of the Wattpadder and tap Profiles (you may need to scroll to the right in the filters)
- Example: "WattpadTimeTravel"
- Type in the username of the Wattpadder and tap Profiles (you may need to scroll to the right in the filters)
- Using Filters
- After you get results for your query, tap on
Search Filters button below the Search Field.
- You can refine your results by:
- Length
- Last updated
- Only show completed
- Hide mature (Please note that this option is not available for anyone under the age of 17)

On Android
