Push notifications

Push (or mobile) notifications are the alerts that appear outside the app on your mobile device. For more information on push notifications and how to configure them, select your device.

iOS

You can receive push notifications on iOS for:

There are two ways to control your push notifications on iOS:

In the Wattpad app:

  1. Go to your profile (tap on your profile picture in the top right)
  2. Tap on settings in the upper right-hand corner
  3. Select Push notifications
  4. Select or unselect the notifications based on your preferences

In your iOS device settings:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap on Notifications
  3. Scroll down until you see Wattpad and click
  4. Tap Allow Notifications
  5. Customize how you would like to receive push notifications. 

*Please note: Wattpad push notifications will not make a sound, even if you have sound turned on in your iOS settings

Android

You can receive push notifications on Android for:

  • Posts on your message board
  • Comments on your story
  • Replies to your comments on stories
  • Updates to stories in your library
  • New followers
  • Votes on your stories
  • A user you follow uploads a new story
  • Promotions from Wattpad (to turn off these notifications, see the section In your Android device settings below)

  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Select or unselect the notifications based on your preferences

In your Android device settings:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Apps Notifications
  3. Choose to show all apps
  4. Scroll down and tap Wattpad
  5. Select or unselect the notifications based on your preferences

*Please note: To turn off notifications about Wattpad promotions, unselect General under the section Other in your device settings
