Stories on Wattpad can have a maximum of 25 tags. Tags must be between 2 and 128 chars and can't have any special characters such as periods, hyphens, or spaces.
If you're trying to add tags to your story and they're not getting saved properly, it is likely that at least one of the tags doesn't follow the criteria mentioned above. You can read more about it here: Adding tags to a story
If your tags follow the criteria and you're still experiencing issues saving them, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
On iOS and Android
- Log out and then back in, making sure to completely close the app in between.
- Toggle your wi-fi/data on and off. If the issue persists, try another wifi network or, if possible, another data network.
- Try to uninstall and reinstall the app.
- If the issue persists, try adding the tags using the website (www.wattpad.com) and see if that works.
On Web
- Log out of your account, clear your browser's cache and cookies, and then log back in. If you prefer, you can clear your cache for Wattpad only. You can learn more by reading our article Troubleshooting issues on the website, or here are some specific browsers' instructions: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.
- If you have a VPN service enabled, try disabling it.
- Try logging in to your account using a different browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, to see if the issue persists across browsers.
