A valid email address linked to your account is very important. You need it to:
- Reset your password
- Verify your account
- Get email notifications from Wattpad
You can change the email address linked to your account at any time as long as it is a valid email and you know your current password.
Once you change it, you’ll need to verify the email address. A verification email will be sent to your new email once the change is made. If you have any trouble, please see this guide: Verifying your Email

On iOS
- Go to your profile (tap on your profile picture in the top right of your home feed)
- Tap on
Settings in the top left corner - Select Account Settings
- Tap Email
- Enter your new email and current password
- Tap Done
On Android
- Go to your profile (tap on your profile picture in the top right of your home feed)
- Tap on Settings in the top right corner.
- Select Account Settings
- Scroll down and tap Email
- Enter your new email and current password
- Tap Change
On Web
- Click on your current username in the top right corner of the screen
- Select Settings from the drop down menu
- Click change next to your current email
- Enter your new email and current password
- Click Submit
- The email address you're trying to use is already linked to another account
- Forgot password
- No access to the linked email or Wattpad account

No access to the linked email?
If you don't know your password and you can't reset it because you don't have access to your email, you won't be able to change the email on your account. Please read our guide for more details: Forgot email
