How to report a user

The Wattpad community is a safe and positive environment and all Wattpadders are encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions in respectful and appropriate forms. Discussing opinions on works, conversing with others, and developing new ideas together are all great ways to interact on Wattpad. In some cases, however, disputes can occur and may result in users being reported.

If you would like to report a user for cyber-bullying, harassment, or inappropriate content, please follow the steps below:

On the web:

1. Visit the profile page of the user you would like to report.
2. To the right of the 'Follow' button there are three dots. Pressing them will open a drop-down menu. From here, please press 'Report 
3. Select one of the provided reasons for which you are reporting and press 'Next'.
4. Provide further details as to why you are reporting, and where we can find this content, and press 'Submit Report'.
5. The report will reach the Wattpad Trust & Safety team, where it will be reviewed. We will follow up with you on the status of your report.

On the iOS app:

1. Visit the profile page of the user you would like to report.
2. Press the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear. From here, please press 'Report.'
3. Select the reason for reporting the user, and provide more details on the issue.
4. Press 'Report' in the top right-hand corner. The report will reach the Wattpad Trust & Safety team, where it will be reviewed. We will follow up with you on the status of your report.
5. You will be given the option to mute the user. There is more information on muting in 'Mute or Unmute a User'.

On the Android app:

1. Visit the profile page of the user you would like to report.
2. Press the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear. Press 'Report or Mute'. Choose 'Report'.
3. Select the reason for reporting the user, and provide more details on the issue.
4. Press 'Report' in the top right-hand corner. The report will reach the Wattpad Trust & Safety team, where it will be reviewed. We will follow up with you on the status of your report.

What happens after I report a user?

Each report that is submitted is reviewed and the appropriate actions are taken. In some situations, there may not be a notification of the resolution for the Support request.

There are many tools in place to help empower the community to resolve issues on their own and forge a strong sense of connection with other users. Always remember that reports are anonymous and safe and should be used when a situation has no resolution that can be reached between Wattpadders involved.

How do I mute a user?
