How to report private messages

The Wattpad community shares their passion for reading and writing by interacting with each other through comments, messages, and club discussions. Reacting to story events, giving feedback to help others improve their writing, or collaborating with other writers are just some of the excellent ways comments are used within the community.

We encourage you to report private messages that are about the following subject matter:

• Cyberbullying and Harassment
• Threats to Personal Safety
• Hate Speech
• Sexually Explicit Content
• Breach of User Privacy

On the web:

1. Visit the private messages you wish to report, which is found in the Inbox.
2. Click the option to 'Report' on the right-hand side.
3. Select 'Inappropriate Comments/User Harassment'. Continue to choose 'Private Message' and then the issue with the private message.
4. Please provide the content of the private messages you are reporting.
5. Press 'Submit'. The report will reach the Wattpad Support team, where it will be reviewed by a member of our team. We will follow up with you on the status of your report.

On the iOS app:

1. Go to the message thread which contains the private message you would like to report.
2. Press the three dots in the top right-hand corner. A drop-down menu will appear. Select 'Report *' where * is the name of the user.
3. Select the option which best describes the reason you are reporting the message thread. Provide any additional details if necessary.
4. Press 'Report' in the top right-hand corner. The report will reach the Wattpad Support team, where it will be reviewed by a member of our team. We will follow up with you on the status of your report.
5. You will be given the option to mute the user. There is more information on muting in 'Mute or Unmute a User'

On the Android app:

1. Go to the message thread which contains the private message you would like to report.
