Unable to comment

Please see the following post for information on commenting on a story: Post or Delete a Story Comment. Otherwise, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Ensure that your account is verified as you can only comment on stories using a verified account. Please see the following guide for information on how to verify your account: Verify your Email or Account
  2. If you are verified and are still unable to comment on stories, you may be posting a duplicate comment or a comment that is too similar to others you have previously posted. In this case, please try personalizing or differentiating your comment before posting it.
  3. If you have personalized your comment and are still unable to post it, please click on a platform below for specific troubleshooting steps.

On iOS & Android

  1. Try commenting on a different story to see if the issue persists across stories
  2. Toggle your wi-fi/data connection off and on again, or try connecting to another wi-fi network
  3. Try logging out and back into your account, making sure to completely close the app
  4. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app

On the Web

  1. Try commenting on a different story to see if the issue persists across stories
  2. Turn your wireless/wired connection off and on again, or try connecting to another wi-fi network
  3. Try logging out of your account, clearing your browser’s cache/cookies, and logging back in again
  4. Try accessing your account using a different browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome

Please include the specific comment you are unable to post and the story information (story title and author’s username) for the story you are unable to comment on.
