What are Ad Skips?

Ad Skips allow users to skip video ads shown between chapters. This enables users to enjoy free stories without ad interruptions every chapter, provided Ad Skips are available.

How do I earn Ad Skips?

Watching a rewarded video ad will allow users to earn Ad Skips. These videos can be found in our Reward Center, and readers can be prompted to watch them as they read if they have run out of Ad Skips.

How many Ad Skips do I earn for every rewarded video I watch?

Currently, you can earn 3 Ad Skips for every rewarded video ad you watch. The number of Ad Skips earned may change in the future.

How do I use my Ad Skips?

Ad Skips will automatically be used when you scroll/swipe between chapters. Each Ad Skip will allow the reader to skip one video ad between chapters during the reading experience. Ad Skips do not apply to the banner ads in reader, only the video ads between chapters.

When will my Ad Skips expire?

Any Ad Skips users earn will not expire at this time.

Is there a limit to how many Ad Skips I can earn? 

Users can watch as many rewarded video ads as they like to earn Ad Skips, and there is no limit at this time.

Do I lose my Ad Skips if I get a Premium subscription?

 If a user subscribes to a premium membership their Ad Skip balance will remain and will not be used as long as they are subscribed. If they do unsubscribe from premium they will be able to use Ad Skips again right away.

Why am I not able to earn Ad Skips?

Wattpad is rolling out this feature to select countries, though this list may expand over time. Currently, Ad Skips are only available on Android in the following select countries:

• Spain
• Italy
• Netherlands
• Singapore
• Portugal
• Belgium
• Sweden
• Austria
• Japan
• Ireland

Ad skips are available globally on iOS.

Why did I not earn Ad Skips after watching the video?

Users must watch the full ad, until the dismiss button appears, to earn Ad Skips. If you exit the app before that you will not earn any Ad Skips. If after the full ad has played a user still does not receive their Ad Skips, please reach out to Wattpad Support.

Anything else I should know?

Wattpad has the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate any of our policies. If Wattpad terminates your account, you will lose any Ad Skips you have earned. 

Wattpad may change any Ad Skip details from time to time, in its sole discretion. Changes are effective as soon as this FAQ page is updated.
