Badges are a way to celebrate and highlight incredible achievements and milestones within the Wattpad community. They provide recognition for authors and help readers discover outstanding stories. Below is a guide to the badges currently available, what they represent, and how they are assigned.

Types of Badges

Wattys Winner Badge

The Wattys Winner Badge recognizes stories that have won a Wattys award since 2014, across all languages. Adding this badge to a story's details boosts its credibility, signaling to readers that it is an enjoyable, award-winning work. It serves as a mark of excellence endorsed by Wattpad and provides permanent recognition for the author’s achievement. 

The Watty Awards is Wattpad’s longest-running annual event that seeks out, rewards, and uplifts the storytellers who choose to share their stories on Wattpad every year. The Wattys are a celebration of what it takes to tell stories. Winning entrants receive coveted opportunities, and the chance for their story to be read and enjoyed by the entire community and beyond. 

• Who gets this badge? All writers who have won a Watty Award since 2014 will automatically see the badge on their winning story.
• What about longlist/shortlist nominees? At this time, only winners receive a badge, but this may expand in the future.
  
  

TV Adaptation Badge

The TV Adaptation Badge highlights stories that have been adapted into a TV series in collaboration with Wattpad WEBTOON Studios.

Print Adaptation Badge

This badge is awarded to stories that have been adapted into print books through official collaborations with Wattpad WEBTOON Studios.

WEBTOON Adaptation Badge

The WEBTOON Adaptation Badge celebrates stories that have been transformed into webcomics in partnership with WEBTOON.

Movie Adaptation Badge

Stories that have been adapted into feature films in collaboration with Wattpad WEBTOON Studios will display this badge.

1. How are badges assigned?

Badges are automatically assigned based on Wattpad's internal data. This ensures accuracy and consistency. If a badge appears on a story, it reflects an official recognition or adaptation confirmed by Wattpad.

2. What if I believe my story qualifies for a badge, but it doesn’t have one?

If you think you should have a badge but don’t, it’s likely that the system doesn’t recognize your claim based on our records. Unfortunately, badges cannot be manually assigned or edited. For example:

• If you claim to have won a Watty award, but we have no record, we cannot retroactively apply the badge.
• Adaptation badges (TV, print, WEBTOON, movie) are only awarded for official studio adaptations under contract with Wattpad WEBTOON Studios. Self-published works or independent adaptations do not qualify at this time. 
  
  

3. Why don’t shortlisted or longlisted Wattys stories have a badge?

Currently, only winners receive a badge. However, we may consider adding badges for shortlisted or longlisted stories in the future.

4. Who can I contact for more information?

Since badges are automatically generated based on our internal data, there is no manual support for badge corrections or additions at this time.
