Bonus Coins are the Coins you can earn on Wattpad.
At present, you can only earn Bonus Coins on the Wattpad app on your iOS or Android device. Once you earn Bonus Coins you can use them to unlock Wattpad Originals wherever you use Wattpad. This includes mobile apps and a web browser. Bonus Coins cannot be earned on a web browser. Bonus Coins earned on or after November 8, 2023, expire 30 days after they are earned unless otherwise stated in our Payment Policy

Why are some of my Bonus Coins expiring?
Bonus Coins earned before November 8, 2023, will expire between July and September 2024. You will receive an email, push, and in-app notification with the date specific to your expiring Bonus Coins. We’ve always said that earned Coins expire but enabled readers to redeem their Coins over a longer period. As of November 8, 2023, all Bonus Coins now expire within 30 days of being earned, unless otherwise stated in our Payment Policy. For Coins you’ve earned before this date, we are extending the expiry of these historical Bonus Coins by an extra month to give you more time to spend unlocking the Wattpad Originals you love.
How will I be notified about this change and my expiring Coins?
For the expiry of your historical Bonus Coins, we will notify you via email and mobile app notifications multiple times before expiry. We hope that these reminders will help you ensure you make the most of your Bonus Coin balance by spending your Coins.
What happens to gifted Coins?
Coins that were gifted to you by Wattpad or through Reading Events and Sweepstakes will expire 30 days after you receive them.
What happens if I don’t spend all my Bonus Coins by the expiry date?
In the event you’re unable to spend your Bonus Coins by this date, they will expire and be deducted from your Coin balance. You can continue to earn Bonus Coins with features like Video Ads and Coin Offers.
Where can I spend my Bonus Coins?
Bonus Coins can be redeemed on Wattpad Originals—curated, quality reads in every genre, exclusively on Wattpad. You can unlock Wattpad Originals part by part, or unlock the whole story if it is completed. Once you’ve unlocked a part or story, you can read it at your own pace. We recommend spending all your Bonus Coins before your expiry date to make the most of them, and you can continue reading your unlocked content even after your Bonus Coins expire. What if I also have Purchased Coins in my wallet?
Purchased Coins do not expire and are used only after all your Bonus Coins have been spent. Your Purchased Coins will not be impacted when you spend your available Bonus Coins balance.
These are the different ways in which you might be eligible to earn Coins:
Coin Offers
Coin Offers are a brand-new way for readers to earn Bonus Coins. With Coin Offers, you can complete simple tasks such as downloading an app, playing a game, visiting a website, taking a quiz or survey, and much more. Each task has its own instructions and Coin reward. Once a Coin Offer is redeemed and task completion verified, which may take up to 24 hours, your Coin balance will be updated with Bonus Coins.
Which countries are Coin Offers available in?
Coin Offers are now available for Wattpadders globally.
Please note: Coin Offers are not available to underage users in the UK or in European Economic Area (EEA) countries.
How can I find Coin Offers on Wattpad?
Visit the Earn Coins page on the app by tapping the gift button on Home, or open your Wattpad Profile via the app and tap the Coins icon, followed by Coin Offers to view all the offers available for you to redeem.
Are Coin Offers available on the web and app?
Coin Offers are currently only available on the iOS and Android apps. Once you’ve earned Coins on the app, you can use them to unlock Wattpad Originals anywhere you use Wattpad, including on wattpad.com.
How many Coin Offers can I redeem?
There is currently no limit to the number of offers you can redeem. If you see that Coin Offers are unavailable, please try again later.
How many Coins do I earn for every offer redeemed?
The amount of Coins earned varies between offers and will be listed next to each offer. There may also be limited-time promotions available when you can earn more than the usual amount of Coins for some or all offers, so look out for opportunities to earn even more Coins!
I redeemed an offer but did not receive Coins. How can I request my Bonus Coins?
If you can’t see your Bonus Coins just yet, don’t panic! It can take up to 24 hours for your Coin balance to get updated. You may need to exit and re-enter your wallet to see the Bonus coins.
If you’re still facing issues, please submit a ticket on the app by following these steps:
Step 1: Tap the hamburger icon (three lines) on the top left of the Coin Offers screen
Step 2: Tap Reward Status on the menu
Step 3: Tap the Offer you’d like to inquire about, followed by the Contact Support button
Please note that you need to submit the ticket in the app, web support is not enabled for users.
Do I have to allow App Tracking to redeem Coin Offers?
No, you can redeem Coin Offers even if you have disabled App Tracking.
How will I know when new Coin offers are available?
We recommend checking the Earn Coins screen daily or every few days to see which new Coin Offers are available. Please also turn on your Notifications to get reminders to check out the latest Coin Offers.
Where can I track my Coin balance?
Your Coin balance is available on your Wattpad Profile. On the Wattpad app, you can tap your Coin balance to view more details and easily buy and earn Coins.
Do Bonus Coins earned by completing Coin Offers expire?

How are Coin Offers different from earning Coins by watching ads?

Coin Offers and rewards are available in different denominations so you can choose how many Coins you wish to earn. Coin Offers are currently available globally.

How can I earn Coins by watching video ads?
To earn Bonus Coins by watching ads, visit the Earn Coins tab in the Coin shop via the Wattpad app. Tap “Video ads” and wait for an ad to load. Finish watching the ad in full until you see the option to “X” out of the ad. A Bonus Coin will be added to your balance. You can watch up to 3 video ads per day to earn Bonus Coins. Please note that you can only earn Coins on iOS and Android devices. However, you can use Coins to unlock Wattpad Originals wherever you use Wattpad, including on wattpad.com.

Why is there a limit on Coins I can earn via video ads?
We would like all Wattpadders to have access to Wattpad Originals. Earning Coins is a way for the entire community to participate. A daily personal allowance makes it possible for Wattpadders in eligible countries to earn Coins equally.
Why am I seeing a message that ads are unavailable?
Ads could be unavailable for several reasons. You must be connected to WiFi or data to watch ads and receive Coins. If you are receiving this message make sure your mobile device has reception.
If you are connected to WiFi and data and continue to receive a message that ads are unavailable, it’s possible that there is an issue connecting with the ad provider, or that ads are temporarily unavailable. Please check back later to earn your Coins for the day.
Do I still earn Bonus Coins if I watch a portion of the video ad?
No. To earn Coins, you need to watch the entire duration of the video ad.
I have reached my daily limit of earned Coins via video ads. When do they reset?
You can earn up to 3 Coins a day. Every day at 00:00 UTC the Coin shop is reset and you can start earning Coins again. This means the time your eligibility resets changes based on the city you live in. For example, if you live in New York you’ll be able to start earning Coins via video ads again at 8:00 PM, or 1:00 AM in London, and 10:00 AM in Sydney.
Do Bonus Coins earned by watching Video ads expire?

Apart from earning Coins via Coin Offers and Video Ads, you can earn Bonus Coins when you purchase a Coin pack as a Wattpad Premium or Premium+ subscriber.
