Recommended stories on the homepage are based on many different algorithms but most of them are impacted by stories that you have been reading. As a result, if you start reading different types of stories and more often, the stories that are recommended to you will change.
To improve your recommendations and give you more control over your home feed experience, you can adjust your Content Preferences by blocking certain story tags/themes, and choosing to include or exclude mature stories and story covers. These filters apply to both the homepage and search results.
- Show all covers: Due to updated app store guidelines, Android users now have the option to blur any potentially suggestive cover images in Home, Story Details, and Search. This feature uses technology to identify potentially suggestive material. Since humans aren’t reviewing which covers are blurred, sometimes it can be wrong. Toggle this feature on if you want all covers to be visible.
- Include Mature: Choose whether or not you want to see Mature stories on your Home feed and in search results (if you’re of age) through a simple ‘on’ and ‘off’ toggle.
- Note: This setting will override the Include Mature filter in search. If you have mature content toggled off in your content preferences, you will not see mature stories in search.
- Blocked Tags: Control which stories you don’t want to see in the Home feed with the ability to block certain story tags. This means stories with tags you select in Blocked Tags will not show up as recommendations in your Home feed anymore. Not a fan of fanfic? No problem! All you have to do is block the tag #fanfic.

Including or excluding mature stories:
- Go to your Profile and select Settings
- Click on Content Preferences
- On Mature content, toggle on to see mature stories and off to exclude mature content
Please note that the Include Mature option will not show up for users who are underage.
Blocking tags:
- Go to your Profile and select Settings
- Click on Content Preferences
- On Blocked Tags, click on Edit Tags
- Type the tags you want to block from your Homepage recommendations and hit enter, separating the tags with a space
- Click the back arrow
- Click Apply changes
On iOS

- On Mature Content, toggle on to see mature stories and off to exclude mature content
