With Wattpad Premium+, starting July 3rd, you receive 200 Bonus Coins every month to unlock Wattpad Originals of your choice, from a growing collection of thousands of stories in every genre, only on Wattpad. 

Wattpad Originals are currently available in English, Filipino, French, Spanish, German, and Indonesian. Plus, you get all the features of a Premium subscription, including an uninterrupted, ad-free experience, unlimited offline reading, access to a free monthly bundle of 5+ curated Wattpad Originals with the Premium Picks feature, Bonus Coins on every Coin pack purchase, exclusive Reaction stickers, and theme colors to customize Wattpad your way.

Note: Bonus Coins reset every 30 days based on your subscription start date.

Upgrading or changing your subscription 

If you are a Premium subscriber already and are looking to upgrade to Premium+ or change your current subscription keep in mind that upgrades are currently not available for these instances:  

• From a discounted/special offer plan to Premium+
  
  
• To go from a yearly Premium subscription to a Premium+ yearly subscription.
  
  
• To go from a monthly Premium+ subscription to a yearly Premium subscription. ​

If you are already a Premium user and wish to upgrade to a Premium+ subscription or change your current subscription, please follow the steps below: 

Tap the “New offer” button at the top of your Home screen in the Wattpad app.

Choose from the plans available for upgrade.
You will be asked to confirm your transaction and can then return to Wattpad as a Premium+ subscriber. You may receive a refund of the prorated amount of your Premium subscription*

On Android

To upgrade to a Premium+ subscription on your Android device

Tap the “New offer” button at the top of your Home screen in the Wattpad app. 

You can choose from the plans available to upgrade.

You will be asked to confirm your transaction and can then return to Wattpad as a Premium+ subscriber. Your subscription will be upgraded immediately, and the price difference between the new and old subscriptions will be charged to your preferred payment method when the subscription renews. The billing cycle remains the same.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I don’t use all my Bonus Coins before my subscription renews?

Bonus Coins expire every 30 days from your subscription start date. For example, if you have only used 150 of the 200 Bonus Coins, the remaining 50 Coins will expire at the end of the monthly cycle, and you will receive another 200 Bonus Coins. 

This 30-day cycle applies to all plans, including monthly, 6-month and annual plans. To make the most of your subscription, we recommend using all your Bonus Coins. Once unlocked, your selected Wattpad Originals will be available in your Library to read at your own pace.

Can I access a free trial of Premium+?

Wattpadders on iOS devices can try Premium+ free for 7 days. During your free trial, you will receive 20 Bonus Coins, and enjoy all the perks of Premium. When you continue your subscription after the trial, you will receive the remaining 180 Coins available with your Premium+ plan, for a monthly total of 200 Coins. A free trial is currently not available for readers on Android devices. 

When does my Bonus Coin balance reset with Premium+?

Your Bonus Coin balance resets monthly on your subscription start date. For example, if you started your subscription on April 15, you will receive your next refill of 200 Bonus Coins on May 15. Bonus Coins are issued monthly on your subscription date, regardless of whether you are on a monthly, bi-annual, or annual plan. 

You can check your subscription start date and renewal date from your App Store / iTunes or Google Play account.

Can I change my plan from Premium to Premium+ (upgrade)?

To upgrade to a Premium+ subscription on your iOS device, tap the “New offer” button at the top of your Home screen in the Wattpad app. You can choose from the plans available for upgrade here.

To upgrade to a Premium+ subscription on your Android device, open the Google Play store, sign in to your Google account, and tap the navigation drawer. Choose “My Subscriptions,” and select the Wattpad app. Click on “Manage Subscriptions,” select your Premium subscription and tap cancel. Return to the Settings screen on your Wattpad app, click subscriptions and select the Premium+ subscription. Your subscription will be upgraded immediately, and the price difference between the new and old subscription will be charged to your preferred payment method.

Can I change my plan from Premium+ to Premium (downgrade)?

To downgrade to a Premium subscription on your iOS device, visit your iTunes account via your device settings, cancel your current Premium+ subscription and then select either a monthly or annual subscription of Wattpad Premium from the subscriptions available on the list. You will be asked to confirm your transaction and can then return to Wattpad. The next time your subscription renews, you will pay the lower price of Wattpad Premium.

To downgrade to a Premium subscription on your Android device, open the Google Play store, sign in to your Google account, and tap the menu. Click on Subscriptions, select your Premium+ subscription and tap cancel. Once canceled, you can choose the Premium subscription and return to the Wattpad app. You will continue to have access to your Premium+ subscription until your next billing date, when you will begin your Premium subscription and pay the lower price of Premium.

How does my Premium+ subscription support writers?

When you unlock a Wattpad Original with Premium+, we give a portion of your subscription payment to the writer as per our contractual agreements.

I've subscribed to Premium+ since before June 26, 2024. Why haven’t I received 200 Bonus Coins?

Subscribers who were already on a Premium+ plan prior to June 26, 2024 will receive Bonus Coins when their subscription renews. You must also update your app to version 10.66 or later to transition to receiving Bonus Coins. Until then, you can continue using your Premium+ unlocks to access Wattpad Originals. Please note that these unlocks will expire on the date your subscription renews. 

I subscribed to Premium+ after June 26, 2024. Why haven’t I received 200 Bonus Coins?  

Please update your app to version 10.66 or later to receive Bonus Coins with your subscription and see a new experience to unlock Wattpad Originals with your Coins. 

How will I know when my Bonus Coins will expire?

Your Bonus Coins will expire each month, 30 days after they are issued. You can check your subscription renewal date by going to Profile > Settings > Subscription. For example, if you subscribed to a monthly or annual plan on April 15, your remaining subscription Bonus Coin balance will expire on May 15 and you will receive a refill of 200 Bonus Coins.  

Will all my Bonus Coins, including Coins earned from Coin Offers or Video Ads expire on the same date?

Bonus Coins expire 30 days after they are issued. This means earned Bonus Coins will expire 30 days after they are earned, and not necessarily together with your subscription renewal date. 

I already have Coins in my wallet. Will they get confiscated if I subscribe to Premium+?

No, any coins in your wallet will remain yours to spend on any Wattpad Originals of your choosing until they expire. 

Can I unlock both completed and ongoing stories?

Currently, you can only unlock completed stories.

Is it possible for me to lose access to a Wattpad Original I have unlocked?

You can keep all the Wattpad Originals you have unlocked to read and re-read as you wish, as long as they remain a part of Wattpad Originals. Your access to the story may be revoked if the story is removed from the Wattpad Originals program at the discretion of the writer and/or Wattpad.

I did not like the Wattpad Originals I unlocked with my subscription. Can I swap it with another story?

No. It is not possible to swap one unlocked story with another.
